The girls' box lacrosse season starts in early April. Typically right after assessments for the minor box program teams hit the floor starting practices right away. Games will follow closely behind the first couple of practices.

Throughout the season teams will have the opportunity to participate in Zone games as well as invitational tournaments. The girls' box lacrosse program is ever-growing within Ontario, and even though Zone 8 has a strong girls' box lacrosse representation, there may not be a lot of teams to play locally. With limited teams to play within Zone, a limited number of games may be put on the schedule to start the season. However, the same opportunity for gameplay is extended to the girls via exhibition games.

Players can expect to be on the floor with the team, depending on coach and team interest, 2-3 times per week, Monday to Thursday. We try to ensure that all teams have the opportunity to participate in 2 tournaments per year. Floor times are typically 6-9 pm, with the youngest divisions starting earlier in the evening.

To qualify for provincials at the end of the season, each team must have played in at least 10 games (an accumulation of zone, exhibition, and tournament games). Zone playoffs take place in the last couple of weeks in July, and provincials take place in Whitby starting on the Civic long weekend.
