The 2023 Season is Looming

Last night your CW Riverhawks executive met in a marathon of a meeting to discuss last-minute items relating to the upcoming season and determine the number of teams we will have this year.

Our first exciting event is CW at the Toronto Rock on Saturday April 1 vs Buffalo. The CW Riverhawks will be well represented. With almost 300 tickets sold we overflowed our first section. Maverick from the Rock let us know that there will be 12,000+ in attendance -- it's going to be one heck of a game! Tickets will be distributed within the next week, watch your emails.

We are still in need of some volunteers to help at the Toronto Rock game to sell balls for the ball toss, the more volunteers that we can have the more shifts we can fill, and the less anyone will have to miss the game. Please reach out to Emily and/or Trina to help out. We hope to sell out of balls again like we did the first time we attended!  We have generated over $3,000 in proceeds back to CW Riverhawks lacrosse through the Toronto Rock Ball Toss.

The ice will be coming out soon, which means that player assessments are fast approaching. Those that are fully registered will receive an email from their respective division's coach in the coming weeks with details on the assessment process and the schedule. The tryout schedule is being built, and players in the minor box programs can expect to see some communication by April 1st.  Assessments for minor box teams will commence the week of April 3, but due to floor time availability, may take a little longer than normal to complete.  All players will be given two tryouts sessions before reassignments are made, and our goal is to have teams finalized and practicing as soon as possible.

Players registered in the Girls box program should expect to see their schedule start the third week in April. Our girls' leadership team is currently working with other centres to ensure that all players have spots to play in 2023.

Local league teams, as well as the U5 and U7 development programs should see their schedules start the week of April 17th. Our U4 development program will likely start the week of May 8th.

Our 2023 season looks like it will be another record-breaking year with over 500 registrations queued, and over 30 different teams lined up to play!

It is the best time of year to be a lacrosse player in Centre Wellington!

We are the Riverhawks.
