Elected Positions

Elected positions have a term of two years, and hold a voting right within the organization. Officers who hold this position are elected on opposing years to ensure continuity of operations.

President

Supervise and lead the general executive in the operations of the association. Approval expenditures through the general executive, attend Zone 8 and OLA meetings as needed and be the main point of contact for the association. Create opportunities for all members of the association whether, parents, executives, bench staff, or players to have success.

Vice President

Are you looking to play an impactful role in leading the CW executive through the 2023 and 2024 seasons? Are you interested in helping to build the best lacrosse programming in Ontario? Vice Presidency may be for you. The VP role starts right after the AGM preparing for the season and coordinating with the President on club direction and initiatives to promote lacrosse in the community.

Secretary

Record and distribute meeting minutes for the general executive in a minute book. Notify and support the president in calling scheduled meetings.

Registrar

Are you incredibly organized and looking to play a key role in ensuring that players and coaches can play next season? The Registrar role starts in late December ensuring that registrations can be taken starting in January. Peaking in late April, ensure that all registrations of players and bench staff are filled out correctly, and submitted to Zone and the OLA.

Treasurer

As a registered not-for-profit, making sure that the president doesn’t overspend is critical. More importantly, we need to ensure that value is delivered to our members for the registration fees they are paying. Financials are all figured out, all you need to do is track transactions and report back to the board. Spend about an hour a month preparing financials for meetings, and a handful of hours per month from February to May preparing invoices and making payments.

Scheduler

Responsible for coordinating with the Zone 8 schedulers to assign all games and practices to teams within the association. Work with the municipality for floor time contracts to ensure that all teams have equal opportunity for success.

Director of Box Lacrosse

In Ontario, box lacrosse is king, but, it could be bigger and better. Be the person to make that impact, and help continue to push our program to be the best. Assist with coaching recruitment, player assessments and overall program growth. Be innovative and look to make the association better.

Director of Field Lacrosse

Field lacrosse is the fastest-growing sport in the USA over the past 15 years. Play an important role in the executive growing the field discipline of the association. Book rental space to start the spring field program, and assist with the recruitment of coaches for our ever-growing field program

Past President

Assist in transitioning new general executive into their roles as necessary.

 

Appointed Positions

Appointed positions have a term of one year, and are critical to the operations of the association.

Coaching Staff Coordinator

Coordinate a subcommittee of general executive and community members in the rigorous selection process of coaches for the association. A crucial role in getting the season started.

U4/U5/U7 Development Convenor

Where it all starts, is coordinating the army of volunteers needed to instil the love of a great game in the young hearts of players within our community.

Lacrosse Convenors (Community League, Boys Lacrosse, and Girls Lacrosse)

We need three, a Girls, a Boys and a Community League convenor. Make a difference and be a part of providing opportunities for community players to get out and see their friends while playing lacrosse. Advocate for your program(s) through to the general executive to ensure great support. Ingenuity is needed to inspire the love of the game in all players.

Equipment Coordinator

Distribute and collect equipment necessary for the season. Maintain inventory of our close to $100,000 in equipment and supplies. Work with the general executive to ensure that equipment is functional to ensure the success of the athletes.

Head Trainer

Ensure that all teams have the necessary resources to ensure all players are prepared to compete at a high level, as well as assistance in injury recovery. Connect with our training partners to ensure top-notch auxiliary programming.

Marketing & Promotions Coordinator

Lead the group with in-person and digital advertisements, promotions, and events that promote the association and sport within the community.

Referee in Chief

Facilitates officiating within the association and other neighbouring associations, ensures all personnel are trained to the correct levels and provides support to junior referees within the club.

Risk Management Coordinator

Assist the registrar with ensuring the necessary vulnerable sector checks are completed keeping the minor players safe. Assists with the resolution of discipline issues.

Tournament Coordinator

Scott Gerrie Tournament is a well-sought-after tournament within Ontario, it is also a major source of revenue for the association. Led the small team of volunteers for a hectic fun-filled weekend of great lacrosse.

Minor to Junior Liaison

Lacrosse doesn’t stop after you turn 16 years old. Help us to bridge that gap by liaising between the general executive, and the executive of our local junior clubs. We are stronger in lacrosse when we work together.

#LoLax Convenor

Do you think lacrosse is easy? Think again! Going into their senior year our CW Ladies of Lacrosse have a spot to play because of this position, and we’re excited to see more players involved in the sport because of it!
